Client Case Study

Richard Place Dobson (RPD), a local accountancy practice in Crawley, choses a charity to support every financial year. In recent years, RPD has helped St Catherine’s Hospice, Air Ambulance and Crawley Open House. This year, they are supporting the Crawley Foodbank Partnership, a worthwhile cause that desperately needs help.

Richard Place Dobson is one of the leading Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors in the Sussex area. They take clients beyond accounting preparation and tax calculation, building a relationship with them that encompasses tax planning, asset protection, profit improvements, and strategic planning.

They also specialise in the charity and not-for-profit sectors. Their specialist team acts for over 100 charities and 3rd sector organisations of varying sizes and locations. They can advise on all sector areas, including SORP compliance, independent examination and risk management, and reserves policy.

Crawley Foodbank Partnership, supported by Crawley Open House and the Easter Team, helps tackle food poverty. Together they help provide support and services for those suffering the effects of homelessness, unemployment, loneliness, discrimination, or other forms of social exclusion. Their support is available to anyone in need.

RPD always kicks off its fundraising activities by hosting an annual footgolf competition. They see teams coming together to fundraise, support and have some fun in the sun (hopefully). They also host a yearly quiz night, which sees their clients, colleagues, friends and families coming together to compete for a trophy, all for a worthy cause to fundraise. This year, the team at RPD will be getting more involved in the action on the ground by volunteering their time down at the local food bank.

RPD is an excellent example of a business that chooses to support a local charity yearly. Matthew Tyson, Managing Director at RPD, said: "We're thrilled to be partnering with Crawley Food Bank Partnership. They do so much good supporting the community, especially when a warm meal was needed more than ever for many families during the pandemic."
Daran Bennett, CEO of the RPD Foundation, said: "The Foundation supports charity organisations, so I am thrilled to see RPD supporting the Food Bank Partnership. Crawley has a strong community, and it will be good for the RPD team to be a part of the local community."
