Historically, Corporate Social Responsibility has been split into four categories:

Social impact is a long-term strategy that businesses invest their time and resources to benefit organisations, charities, individuals, or communities. They will provide impact through a particular action, programe, or project and measure the sustainable impact of this. 

Social value is measured by an organisation’s positive impact on society, a local community or within an environment. Businesses focus on short-term goals and benefit the economic, social, and environmental impact of a charity or individual.
